 "The Carris group is delighted to have been invited as "guest of honour" and to serve as a member of the organising committee for this third edition of the European Mobility Exhibition in Paris.
Once again, the Exhibition will be an important melting-pot of opportunities, both in terms of the exhibition itself and the presentation and demonstration of the latest experiences and innovations. Furthermore, it is a key event for politicians focusing on the development of public transport, mobility and this sector in general.
Organisations and operators who, like Carris, are committed to continuing to forge ahead with their efforts in terms of sustainable development, are looking to this event to provide fresh proposals for improving performance and quality of life for the cities and inhabitants which they serve on a daily basis.
In 2006, Carris was the first public transport operator in Portugal to obtain overall Certification for its Quality Management system (ISO 9001/2000). The first four routes on its network (NP EN 13816) have also been certified as part of a process which is being gradually rolled out. The group will soon have some 40 certified routes. Moreover, last September, as part of its 135th anniversary celebrations, the Carris group signed up to the UITP letter, a strong commitment in favour of sustainable development. It is about to receive ISO 14001/2004 environmental certification.
Customers are very aware of these significant improvements and very happy with them. The group has also set itself a constant challenge of seeking out new resources to achieve better results. It regularly compares its results with best practices of major operators who serve as benchmarks at the international level. The aim is to adopt the best solution for managing urban mobility.
Carris is thus looking to continue its development as one of the best public transport service and mobility operators".
