Bike sharing: promoting sustainable mobility

THURSDAY JUNE 12
2.00 - 3.00pm
At the dawn of the 21st century, the rise of the city bike has been boosted by new self-service bike systems. The success of these flexible and innovative initiatives has demonstrated that bikes have a genuine role to play in urban mobility. Bikes are a key asset for sustainable mobility, whether used on their own or combined with public transport. The discussion will bring together key players in bike use in European conurbations, councillors and operators, and will also bring together the "European network of bike-sharing towns" for the first time.
Discussion led by: Dominique ROUSSET, journalist
With input from:
Denis Baupin, Chairman of the Club of bike-friendly towns, deputy mayor of Paris
Xavier Corominas Mainegre, Director of the Catalan bicycle conference, Director of the Shared Bike Days in Barcelona
Ricardo Montezuma, Director of the 'Foundation for a human city' in Bogotà, director, Transmillenio, professor at the University of Columbia
