With over 27% more visitors compared to the 2008 edition, Transports Publics 2010 proved to be highly successful. In all, over 10,000 professionals from all over the world attended, finding out all about the latest innovations on the part of the 225 exhibitors present.
Transports Publics 2010 welcomed professional delegates from across Europe to find out about the latest innovations in public transport and share their experiences. This was an opportunity for them to increase their business and establish fruitful links.
Some fifty countries were represented at the exhibition, with a number of notable foreign delegations from the rest of Europe and beyond: China, Spain, India, Iran, Italy, the Netherlands, Portugal, Saudi Arabia, Belgium, South Africa, Algeria, Australia, Brazil, Cameroon, Canada, Chile, Colombia, Côte d’Ivoire, the United Arab Emirates, and elsewhere.
The Grand Pavilion hosted the Madrid and Netherlands networks, along with the UITP, which sponsors the exhibition.
Innovation was a guiding theme in every field – including road, rail, services and alternative transport – with the Innovation and Research Track and the Public Transport Innovation Awards.
Awards were picked up by SISMO, the integrated mobility services system for the Oise by ERG Transit Systems and Cityway (in the Energy and Environment category), Iveco’s hybrid Citelis and Access’Bus GX 327 and 427 ranges (in the Intelligent Transport Systems category) and in the Accessibility, Fittings, Facilities and Design category, INEO Systrans’ Multimodal Information System including green-mode public transport vehicles.
European-wide issues, international markets, intermodality, industry representation, mobility and sustainable development, innovations, changes in behaviour, transport policies... All this and more lay at the heart of the discussions and debates that took place at the Carrefour de l’Europe and at the Exhibitor Platform.
The programme also included the Public Transport Innovation and ‘Talent in Mobility’ awards ceremonies, the Golden Bus contest and the ‘First Job’ Forum, as well as press conferences and other events.
