Significant increase in visitor numbers |
| With over 40% more visitors compared to the 2006 edition, Transports Publics 2008 proved to be highly
successful. In total, close to 9,000 visitors came to find out about the latest innovations from the 220 exhibitors. |

The exhibition's international dimension is now well-established |
The Transports Publics exhibition welcomed professionals who came from all across Europe to discover the latest
innovations in transport and compare their experiences. It was an opportunity for all delegates to increase their business and establish fruitful
links.
Some fifty countries were represented at the exhibition, with a number of notable foreign delegations from the rest of
Europe and beyond: India, Brazil, China, Iceland, Portugal, Spain, Germany, Belgium, the Netherlands, Czech Republic, Russia, Sweden, the United
Kingdom, and others.
A large number of dignitaries were present: The Portuguese ambassador to France, the Secretaries of State for Transport
from Brazil, Belgium and France, MPs from Iceland and Belgium, Euro-MPs and others.
With over 30% of exhibitors from abroad, the Exhibition clearly established its European dimension and had an even more
international feel. The Grand Pavilion welcomed the Brussels and Lisbon networks.
At the exhibition's inauguration, the UITP and the GIE Objectif transport public GART-UTP signed a partnership agreement for
the next two editions of the exhibition, underscoring their long-term aim of establishing a global sustainable mobility exhibition in Paris. |

Innovation at the heart of the Exhibition |
Innovation was the guiding theme throughout the three-day event in every field - road, rail,
services and alternative mode travel - with the Innovation Track and the Public Transport Innovation
Awards.
Awards went to Bombardier's AGC BiBi high-capacity railcar in the 'energy and environment' category, ERG Transit Systems'
virtual point of sale in the 'intelligent transport systems' category, and Lumiplan's Mobi+ in the 'accessibility, fittings, facilities and design'
category. |

An event-filled programme |
European-scale issues, international markets, intermodality, industry representation, mobility and sustainable
development, innovations, changes in behaviour, transport policies... all this and more lay at the heart of the discussions and debates that took
place at the Carrefour de l'Europe and at the Exhibitor Platform.
The programme also featured the Public Transport Innovation Awards ceremony, the Golden Bus contest, a meeting between
recruiters and students and new graduates, press conferences and more. |
