Genoa shares its bright ideas with Marseille
Interview with Franck-Olivier Rossignolle, CEO of the Genoa network


Genoa has one of the largest public transport networks in Italy. With 156 million passenger journeys a year for a population of 650,000, its performance is comparable to that of the Marseille urban district. Its larger French neighbour is home to a population of over one million and features similar geography. To find out more about how a network with relatively little major infrastructure could achieve this level of performance and learn from its ideas, the Marseille network heads travelled to Genoa, on the initiative of the UTP (Public and Rail Transport Association). Here they met Franck-Olivier Rossignolle, the network CEO: we talked to him about the visit.

Veolia-Transdev: the birth of a public transport giant

The French Antitrust Authority has just given its approval for the merger of Veolia Transport and Transdev. This merger of two European operators will result in a world leader in public transport with revenues of €8.2 billion, a workforce of almost 130,000 and operations in 30 countries.

Fifth European Mobility Exhibition to be held in Paris in June 2012

For its fourth edition last June, 10,000 international professionals and 225 exhibitors from every aspect of public transport and green mode transport gathered in Paris to take part in the European Mobility Exhibition, finding out about all the latest innovations as well as comparing and contrasting their experiences.
This extremely encouraging result underscores the genuinely European positioning of this bi-annual event. The European Mobility Exhibition offers an opportunity for participants to boost their business and make useful contacts, bringing together decision-makers from over 50 countries - as well as over 250 European journalists. The figures speak for themselves: 94% of exhibitors said that they were satisfied with the exhibition and a majority described their presence there as "vital".
So put the date of the next edition in your diary right away: the 5th European Mobility Exhibition will be held from Tuesday 5 to Thursday 7 June 2012 at the "Porte de Versailles" exhibition centre in Paris.
